  It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Genrikh Pavlovich Padva — one of the most outstanding Russian defense attorneys.

  The name of Genrikh Pavlovich Padva has always symbolized the finest traditions of the legal profession. We have always been proud that, for us, Genrikh Pavlovich was a teacher, a friend, and a colleague. Any of us could come to his home; he knew our families and our children. He knew our strengths and our weaknesses. He knew how to praise and how to admonish. He knew how to listen — and to truly hear. He loved us.

  Only yesterday we were discussing our cases with him, arguing, laughing, drinking tea together. Alas, this will no longer be so. But our memory remains with us. As do the principles of life and the principles of our profession.
